The Area
The Karkonosze Mountains and Karpacz
Willa Osada Pogodno lies in Miłków, at the foot of the Karkonosze Mountains - just a few minutes by car from Karpacz and the main ridge. It makes an excellent base both for mountain hikers and for guests who simply want to rest surrounded by nature, waterfalls and the heritage of the region.
Peaks and mountain trails
The whole area is crowned by Śnieżka (1,603 m) - the highest peak of the Karkonosze and of the entire Sudetes, sitting on the Polish-Czech border. At the summit you will find the distinctive discs of the meteorological observatory and the baroque chapel of Saint Lawrence, and on clear days the panorama reaches far into the Czech and Polish valleys.
The region is surrounded by the Karkonosze National Park, which protects glacial cirques, mountain tarns and rare wildlife. A dense network of marked trails of varying difficulty starts in Miłków and nearby Karpacz - from gentle forest walks to full-day expeditions onto the ridge.
- Śnieżka - on foot, or more comfortably by cable car to Kopa and onward by trail
- Kopa (1,377 m) - a viewpoint and gateway to the main Karkonosze ridge

- Trails from Miłków - hiking and cycling routes starting right at the villa
Waterfalls and mountain nature
The Karkonosze are known for picturesque waterfalls, at their most beautiful in spring and after summer rains. Near Szklarska Poręba, just under an hour from the villa, the Kamieńczyk Waterfall thunders down - the highest waterfall on the Polish side of the range, falling in three cascades into a rocky ravine.
Closer by, in the heart of the national park, the intimate Szklarka Waterfall hides among old forest and mossy boulders. For unusual views we also recommend the Colourful Lakes in the Rudawy Janowickie - former quarry pits whose waters shimmer in shades of purple, blue and green.

Wang Church
One of the most valuable monuments in Karpacz is the Wang Church - a wooden stave church originally built in the 12th century in Vang, Norway. In the 19th century it was carefully dismantled and reassembled at the foot of the Karkonosze, without a single nail in its load-bearing structure.
Surrounded by a stone wall and a free-standing bell tower, the church impresses with Scandinavian detail, dragon motifs and a singular atmosphere. It is an essential stop during any stay in the region, also for those who value quiet and history.
Karpacz and family attractions
Karpacz is a lively mountain resort where you will find atmospheric restaurants, cafés and regional specialities, as well as seasonal fairs and cultural events. After a day on the trail it is good to rest over a fine meal with a view of the mountains.
Families with children will appreciate the wide choice of attractions available all year round. Near Karpacz there is a Wild West town, a dinosaur park and a Toy Museum, and a little further stretches the Valley of Palaces and Gardens with its restored residences, among them the Paulinum Palace.
